The 23rd was an extra fun day for Reid and Grant. Not only did they get to spend the evening with Aunt Sassy, Uncle B, Aunt Jordan, Uncle Dylan, and Steven; they also had their first experience with what I hope will become an annual tradition: decorating Christmas cookies!
I made the cookies, Steph brought the decorating supplies, Ryan used painter's paper to cover our kitchen table, and then they were off to the races.
They didn't really know what to think at first:

But then Grant got his first taste of the icing, and it was ON.
Then Reid followed suit:
This went on for a bit, and everything was nice and calm and under control.
Until...
... they discovered the sprinkles, and things got a lot more exciting.

It was so much fun, Uncle D even got in on the action:

Finally, once there were more sprinkles on the table and icing on the boys' faces than on the actual cookies, it was time to call it quits. The boys weren't too sad, though, because the next part was just as fun: taking a bath in Mom & Dad's big tub.

Even though I'm still vacuuming sprinkles out of the rug, this will go down as one of my very favorite Christmas memories. And in case you're wondering, here's the lovely finished product:
