Swimming sweeties

As I mentioned, we spent Memorial Day at Honey and Big's, and after the boys woke up from their nap, it was time for swimming! They were doing fine in the pool by the end of last summer, and they definitely LOVE their water table and the hose, so I was excited to see what they'd think about swimming now that they're big almost-17-month-olds. Aaaaaaand for the most part it was a smashing success. They loved it!

Reid was excited from the moment he dipped his little toes in:

Grant took a few minutes to warm up to it, but soon he was splashing right alongside his brother:

And lots of jumping, kicking and splashing with Honey, Daddy, Aunt KK and Josh (and Mommy, once I got a few pictures out of the way).

With a long, hot summer upon us, I have a feeling there will be lots more pool time in our future!

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Well, we broke down and did it: The mullets are no more! We spent the day at Honey and Big's to celebrate Aunt Sassy's birthday with fried shrimp and swimming (more pictures to come later this week). SuSu came over with her scissors, and we pulled the trigger before we could change our minds. And let the record show that it was their daddy who protested the loudest...


Reid was stoic. He sat perfectly still the entire time, and his expression didn't change. (That red bump on his temple is a mosquito bite that he got yesterday, despite wearing 15 gallons of bug repellant. Grant has a matching one.)

Grant started off strong--smiling, even--but after a minute or two he decided had had enough and was just fine with his mullet, thankyouverymuch.

They are officially big boys now, and my heart seriously can not handle it.

Sunday streakin'

We've had a totally low-key day. Ryan took the boys to the grocery store this morning, and we squeezed in a little packing throughout the day.

Once it cooled off a little this afternoon, the boys played outside... and their daddy busted out their favorite thing: the water hose. After they were sufficiently soaked, we stripped them down and let them run around. Make that mostly stripped... Grant wouldn't give up his new Crocs that Honey brought back from Disney World:
