Little firecrackers

I'm still woefully behind, but I'm not giving up! I'm nearly four weeks late posting this, but at least it's still July...

Mimi and Poppy visited us over the 4th, and even without anything planned we still had lots of fun. I'll post pictures from the rest of their visit soon, but first I figured I ought to get up the ones from the boys' first adventure with fireworks.

After our delicious 4th of July dinner of hamburgers and hot dogs, the fun started off with sparklers, which were a big hit (and a bit scary to watch in the hands of these wild boys!)

The rubber boots were all their own doing, by the way. I'd say they really completed the outfit.

Ryan also got a few other fireworks, and the boys started off sitting in Mimi's lap to watch them:

Then they got brave and decided to sit at the picnic table so they could be a little closer to the action...

... that is, until Ryan lit one of the noisemakers and Reid bolted for safety:

We underestimated how much they would love it all, so after the first round was all gone, Ryan and Randy hit up the nearest stand for a re-stock. The boys kept themselves entertained on the swingset while we waited.

Sink shenanigans

Honey brought the boys home from Susan's one day in early May. It was raining and we couldn't go play outside, so we decided to have some indoor water fun in the kitchen sink:
