Check out what Reid can do:

They started doing this a few months ago... they'll "read" our house rules sign, books, and the print above their changing table. They point to each letter and usually say "e" or "o" or "a" for every one -- those seem to be their favorites. But last week, Reid started doing it after dinner and I realized I hadn't gotten it on video yet, so I grabbed my phone... and then about halfway through, we noticed that he was actually getting a few of them right! And since then, it's clear that it wasn't just a fluke... he's done it several more times and he definitely knows B, E, O, F, Y, S, R, and sometimes A, U, and L.

Grant does it too (with every bit as much eagerness, if not accuracy), and I'm trying to catch it on camera. They think they're pretty hot stuff... and I think it's adorable, regardless of whether they get any right or not.

New Year's Eve

Our New Year's Eve was low-key and perfect. Steph and Bret came over, Ryan cooked a delicious dinner, and the four of us watched Clemson beat LSU in the Peach Bowl. Honey and Aunt KK stopped by early in the evening, too.

Though Reid and Grant didn't get to stay up until midnight (more like 8:00), they had plenty of fun just the same and cheered on the Tigers for the first part of the game. They even had the perfect outfits, thanks to last year's Christmas present from Uncle Nolan and Aunt Lanie (Grant's in Ryan's hat):

Aunt Sassy and Uncle B brought Colbie along to play, too, and once the boys stopped being nervous, they couldn't get enough of her.

Before bed, they took a ride on Aunt Sassy...

had a little throwback dance party with some old-school jams...

and even learned how to play "Ring Around the Roses"!

It was the perfect way to ring in the new year!

Birthday weekend with Mimi, Poppy & Aunt Meg

I've already covered the boys' party and their actual birthday, but I don't want to forget the rest of the weekend! Mimi, Poppy, and Aunt Megan got into town on Thursday evening and spent the weekend playing and helping us get ready for the party!

We didn't have anything planned except the party, so we really did just hang around the house for the most part... and it was great!

 

 

 

 

 

It was a sweet, easy weekend, and we miss them lots now that they're back in Georgia! The boys ask for Mimi and Poppy every morning now, so maybe it's time to plan another visit... no pressure! ;)

Birthday fun with Momo

We are so happy that Morgan is home from Disney World! She came over on the boys' birthday to play, so of course we busted out the bounce house for some fun.

And then back to the bounce house they went.

 

 

 

 

It was a great way to spend the afternoon with two cranky birthday boys. I'm sure they wouldn't have had it any other way!
