We parked 847 miles away and headed straight for the petting zoo, which the boys loved last year. (Sadly, my camera lens broke as soon as we got there and would no longer auto-focus, so most of the pictures I got are blurry.) Grant was pretty brave right off the bat, and though it took Reid a little bit to warm up to the animals, he eventually jumped in too.
Grant's in the blue shirt, and Reid in the red:

The petting zoo was packed with field trippers, but the boys still managed to snag some one-on-one time with a few new friends.
And, just because this is too adorable not to share:
Once we had had enough of the deer trying repeatedly to eat our clothes, it was time for pony rides. The pony ride was a mixed bag last year, and I fully expected Grant (typically the more cautious brother) to scream and cry at first. I couldn't have been more wrong!
Grant was all about it from the get-go. He grabbed right onto the saddle horn and didn't even need his daddy to hold onto him. Reid, on the other hand, wasn't so sure he wanted Poppy to let go.
But never fear, he came around. Just like at Disney World, once they really got going, he realized he was actually having a pretty fun time.
And also just like Disney World, the worst part was the getting off...
After the pony rides, we wandered around for a bit and of course had to stop off for our annual longhorn photo shoot, which the boys were NOT thrilled about:
We played in the Ford display trucks for awhile (which might been the boys' favorite part, aside from the pony rides) and then stopped off at the John Deere booth for one last Rodeo hurrah:
We love the Rodeo and hope Mimi and Poppy will make it an annual tradition! They're already talking about getting the boys in training for mutton bustin'...
