Georgia on my mind, part 3

Sunday was our last full day in Georgia. We had a lazy morning, and the boys hung out in their pjs with Nanny and PopPop for awhile.

Marcy and Jerry came over for a quick visit, too, but sadly I didn’t get any pictures.

The weather was perfect all day, so we spent a lot of time outside. Funnily enough, the boys had on an outfit that they got while they were still in the hospital: the shirt is from Aunt Sassy and the overalls from Amy. They looked like precious little farmers.

That afternoon we were joined by the Wolf family BFs, the Gold/Blue clan, for a few hours. Katie snapped some beautiful photos of the boys, which will be getting their very own post tomorrow, and we watched almost-5-year-old Johnny run around like the biggest (and cutest!) kid on the block. I was too busy catching up with Katie and Jenny, two of my favorite girls, to take more than a couple of pictures myself.

We all ate dinner, and then after our visitors left, Mimi took the boys for a stroll in the wagon she borrowed for them for the weekend. (She really does think of everything!) I went out in search of them to take some pictures, only to find them parked in the Murrays’ driveway so she could show them off one last time before we had to leave the next morning. I think she’s just a little bit proud of her grandsons.

Monday came much too soon, and it was back to one of my least favorite places on the planet: the Atlanta airport.

The boys were a little fussy on the flight home—chalk it up to the fact that they were so off schedule. (That’s the downside of the fabulous schedule: when they get off of it for several days in a row, they are little bears for a couple of days until we get them straightened back out.)

Clearly, Ryan isn't going to win any awards for his iPhone photography. But at this point he is the only one of us who has changed a dirty diaper (or two) in an airplane bathroom, so I'll cut him some slack. That's what happens when you get the aisle seat and stick your wife with the window.

We finally made it home and had the evening to unwind and begin the days-long unpacking process before it was back to work on Tuesday morning. It was a wonderful trip chock-full of sweet memories, and we were sad to say good-bye. We can’t wait to go back again in December!
