Life's a beach -- Day 4 (continued)

Because Tuesday was our last day of vacation, we decided to make it another double-header and head back to the beach after the boys' naps. But first we wanted to make sure the rain had cleared out, so R&G killed time on their balance bikes.

Eventually we headed back to the beach for one last hurrah, despite two cranky (and sand-chafed -- ouch) little boys:

It turned out to be a gorgeous evening, so we attempted a quick family photo (despite the fact that it was the one day I didn't take a shower after our morning beach time). It turned out beautifully, as you can tell:

The pictures were so much fun (sarcasm alert) that everyone else wanted in on the action, too. Here are the Wolf men:

Mimi was finally able to make them happy with a leisurely stroll:

...until they spotted a seagull, that is. Chasing gulls was one of their top 3 favorite beach activities (along with riding in the golf cart and rinsing off in the beach shower). These two tried their hardest to sneak up on the bird. They weren't successful, of course, but it made for some sweet pictures:

Then it was time to end their first beach vacation with their #1 favorite beach adventure -- playing in the shower:

And just like that, vacation was over.

The trip was perfect -- sweet, special, fun, memorable... and of course hard, but made so much easier by Randy and Peggy's unending help and positive attitudes. Nothing's ever easy with two challenging 2-year-olds, but I think I'm finally a beach believer. We are so very grateful to Mimi and Poppy for a wonderful vacation and we can't wait to hit beautiful Sandestin again next summer!
