I can't really even talk about the fact that these babies are less than one month from turning 1. My heart can't handle it.
Their noses stopped running and Reid's hives (more on that to come) finally cleared up enough for us to attempt the 11-month photo shoot yesterday. We also had the added bonus of a visit from Aunt Morgan, and these days we need all the hands we can get to keep these kids from nose-diving out of the rocking chair.
All the dang sickness aside, the past month has been so much fun. Both of the boys have learned to clap, and they love to do it ALL of the time. It could be the cutest thing I've ever seen. We can say "Yaaaaay, Reid" or "Yaaaaay, Grant" and they just smile and start clapping for themselves. For the first few days, Grant's clap looked a little like a tambourine -- he would hold one hand perfectly still in front of his face and just hit the other one against it -- but he's got the hang of it now.
Reid is babbling more and more, and he says what sounds a whole lot like "Mama," "Dada," "dog" and "baba," which could be either bottle, bye-bye or baby. And he says them repeatedly and in situations that actually make sense, so I'm tempted to start giving him credit for them.
Grant constantly makes this hilarious "oooooooooh" face that makes me laugh out loud every single time (you'll see it below), and Reid is all about the huge, toothy, face-wrinkling grins. Reid has also started sucking his thumb more and more now. It's not unusual for him to pull a blanket (or laundry) off our couch and snuggle up to it with his thumb in his mouth. His favorite lovey is still his sleep sack, though. These babies are too much.
First up, Reid:
And Grant:
Maybe my favorite pictures ever of this kid, because they so perfectly capture what he is doing 50% of the time:
And finally, The Brothers... silly, sweet, and so much fun:
