Babies in bluebonnets

Last month we made time for one of my favorite Texas springtime rituals: bluebonnet pictures! (See the pictures from 2012 here, and from 2013 here.) 

With help from Honey and Sassy, we managed to get a few sweet ones despite some eyes that were super sensitive to the sunlight and despite the insane phobia of / obsession with bugs these two have.

Easter recap

We had a sweet Easter with boys who are finally old enough to grasp the fact that it's a special day. 

On Good Friday, we attempted to dye some eggs. I spent a good 30 minutes getting everything ready and set up, and the boys dyed approximately one egg each. The fun lasted about 5 minutes.

Maybe next year...

Easter morning started off with Easter baskets for two excited little boys.

{Don't be fooled by the fact that they're at the wrong baskets... Grant's in blue and Reid's in orange}

Their baskets included some books, sunglasses, swim trunks, bathtub paints, a bubble gun, and a Pez dispenser (their first), which was the clear favorite right off the bat. 

The bubble guns outlasted the candy, though, so we had to go outside and try them out:

After breakfast we headed to early church with Honey and Morgan, and we got to see Sassy, B, and Blaire as they were arriving for the later service. We attempted to get a cute picture of the three cousins together, but between Grant's squinting and Reid's pose (what on EARTH???), it wasn't happening.

Seriously, he just laid back and posed like this. We could barely see to take the picture from laughing so hard.

We managed to sneak in a family picture:

They were handing out giant bubbles at church, so we had to take a few minutes to let the boys try them out.

After naps, we headed to Dayton for supper at Dale and Michele's. It was a good, sweet day, and most of all, I loved that the boys kept telling us "Easter is about Jesus!"
