Soccer stars in the making

I'm still in denial, but it seems Reid and Grant are officially old enough to play soccer this spring. The boys and I stopped at the Y last month to sign up, and they were soooo excited. They kept telling everyone, "We sign up for my team!" 

So, a few weekends ago we headed to Academy to stock up on the necessary gear, and then came home to try it all out. The "shin dards," which you can't see since they're wearing pants, are their favorite part. (In fact, they insisted on wearing them out for pizza on this night.)

They spent a good hour kicking the balls all over the yard, and with surprising coordination.

And (God help us) they've already proven they can be just a touch dramatic when the ball doesn't go where they'd like it to:

Their first game is in two weeks, and while we have no idea if they'll actually play or if they'll flee to the sidelines and hide in our laps the entire time, at least we can be sure they'll be adorable in their outfits. (Excuse me, uniforms.)
