Happy boys... mostly

When we got these boys out of their carseats yesterday, it literally took my breath away to see how big they looked. I'm not sure what was different -- maybe it was the fact that they were wearing shorts (it was in the 80s here yesterday), and they were like 8 months old the last time they wore shorts?? -- but whatever it was, they just looked SO grown-up.

Reid threw up on the way to Susan's Wednesday morning, so he spent the day at home with me and was such a sweet little Mama's boy. And apparently Grant was a total sweetheart at Susu's, too -- it's amazing how content/easy/laidback they are when they don't have each other to aggravate (and when there's just one to look after)!

Everyone felt fine yesterday evening, so after dinner they spent some time monkeying around in their big-boy chairs from Mimi and Poppy.

Of course, Reid pulled the blanket off the chair in our living room and was snuggling with it the whole time:

I love that silly, toothy grin!

I have more pictures of Reid than Grant because after a few attempts at this...

...he nosedived over the side of the chair and there were some tears shed:

He got over it pretty quickly, though, and it was right back to being a funny little monkey:

My precious little mess.

Tomorrow these two will be getting their 12-month vaccines and blood draws. Please pray that it won't be too traumatic for them (or us!). It's supposed to be chilly and rainy tomorrow, so we won't even be able to make it all better by letting them play outside. We may have another trip to Bass Pro Shop in our future. Ahhh, how our weekends have changed.... but we wouldn't trade them for anything!
