The boys had been looking for it for several minutes, and they were SO excited when Ryan found it.
Friendly little Reid told it, "Hi, wizzer."
And funny Grant thought it was hilarious that the yizard's mouth was open and wanted to show us:
They were so curious, but only from a safe distance. They wanted nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with petting or holding the lizard themselves (thank goodness!)

After a few minutes, Ryan put the lizard back in the flower bed and told the boys he was going night-night... but that didn't stop them from looking for him:
Now we talk about the yizard/wizzer at least 20 times a day. It usually goes a little something like: "Yizard, Daddy, hand, mouth, FUNNY."
Honey brought the boys some little plastic lizards yesterday, and she and I could not stop laughing about how petrified they were of them. They couldn't get enough of staring at them and talking about them, but if they got within a foot or so, the boys went nuts: screaming like girl, dancing all around, backing up frantically.
She finally got them to agree to pick up the toy lizards with our kitchen tongs, which turned into a fun little game... until someone would drop one, and then all hell would break loose again.
Something tells me I'll be longing for these scaredy-cat days soon enough, when they're catching lizards/bugs/frogs on their own!
